Meditation
Pole
This pole
has the four elements and was designed for my friend
who finds the Native American sweat lodge ceremony
very powerful. The first section is the west and on
it I have painted an Inipi, (sweat lodge), and its
setting with the fire and the line of cornemeal to
the altar. The fur is buffalo, who is frequently honored
in the ceremony. The next section is the north, with
a polar bear walking through a snowstorm representing
strength. The third is the east where the sun rises
and which is the element of air, hence the feathers
representing our winged friends. The south is yellow
for the sun at midday and has deer toes attached to
it and fire painted on it. The deer sits in the south
and brings the gentle qualities of trust and innocence.
This pole is used to meditate and pray with. Image

Wisdom Dancing
Stick
Salmon seems
to be rocket propelled as he leaps out of the water swimming
upstream. Salmon is a symbol of strength, endurance and
wisdom. Next to him is a little medicine bag. This may
be removed and carried if you are gathering things in
nature.
The amethyst arrowhead is for spiritual focus and aim. Amethyst helps
us to strive for higher awareness and enlightenment. The purple glass
bead holds a guinea hen feather. The black and white of the feather represent
balance, by the opposites dancing in harmony.
On the last section is a carving of a woman with her Spirit polar bear.
This is carved out of walrus tusk. The shell brings the water energy
again for balance, intuition and healing and the turkey feathers provide
the fire and “rocket” energy. Turkey is about the giveaway
and learning to receive and give gracefully. Giving is about respecting
all life as sacred. The white and blue deerskins bring the gentle energy
of deer who trusts in great Spirit’s plan and is not afraid.

Accomplishments Dancing
Stick
This
is a moose dancing stick. Moose comes to us to help
us integrate our accomplishments and remind us to give
ourselves a pat on the back. The point of the stick
is moose antler bordered by buffalo fur to help her
pray. The medicine bag is filled with herbs that are
relevant to her journey. All the hide is deer bringing
trust, innocence and warmth of feeling into her life.
The amethyst is to enhance her spirituality. On the
back of the stick is a black arrowhead decorated with
white chevrons. The arrowhead is for focus and the
black and white represent balance. The feather is to
remind her of the freedom of the skies that a heightened
focus will bring her.

Terry's
Wedding Wand
The
basic wand has the same qualities as Sheryl's. Specifically
on Terry's wand are: Buffalo tooth ~buffalo represents
prayer and abundance. The medicine
of buffalo is prayer, gratitude and praise
for that which has been received. Buffalo is about strength,
stability, honoring all our relations and the richness
of life. Acorn ~ the oak is the tree of knowledge. Its
powers are protection, health, money, healing, potency,
